The Circle of Friends are community based, volunteer, fundraising groups supporting the Children’s Medical Center Foundation. Our mission is to raise awareness and money for the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. This state of the art, hospital opened in June 2007, replacing the old Children's Hospital. Dell Children's is a pediatric hospital serving exclusively children and adolescents regardless of the family's ability to pay. We tum away NO child. We service a 46 county area in Central Texas and we are a member of the Seton Family of Hospitals. The Circle of Friends volunteers have been an integral part of the fundraising efforts for the hospital, raising over 2 million dollars since they began in 1997.
Dell Children's is a very young hospital and we are in the process of developing and expanding special Areas of Excellence. Prominent pediatric subspecialists from all over the country have been recruited to help us achieve our goal to make Dell Children's one of the top 10 Pediatric hospitals in the country.
Now that the doors to Dell Children’s Medical Center have been opened, our work is just beginning! Most importantly are the programs never before offered that will now be available here in Austin. These Centers of Excellence will be the cornerstone for the treatment of all children in our area. With these programs have come nationally recognized specialists that have chosen Austin not only for this amazing facility but more importantly for the needs of our children.
The Angels on Wheels Motorcycle Ride is the annual event for our newest chapter, the Central Texas Riders Circle of Friends. This chapter is made up of several riders from the first two years of Angels on Wheels. They wanted to come together and make this ride one of the best in the Austin area, bringing riders and participants from all over Central Texas together to raise awareness and funds for the kids in our area.
